This is a very special day. Fifty years ago today, you both said your marriage vows and committed to a life together, for better or for worse. Fifty years ago today, you may have been nervous, excited, anxious or thrilled to be starting your lives together. Fifty years ago today, however you were feeling, you went through with your planned wedding at St. Andrew's Church in Chateauguay, Quebec, not knowing what exactly lay ahead.
Today, 50 years later, you are still married, and you have 3 grown-up daughters. These daughters are so proud to call you Mom and Dad, and we couldn't be happier for you both, celebrating your 50 years together.
This blog was created to share pictures and memories, and to give you both something that's from our hearts, so you know how much you're loved 💕. It was also created because it doesn't take up any space! It'll fit nicely in your lives 😉.
More to come!!!
Here are some beautiful memories from Jim and Corrie Barrett:
Dear Gonny and Chadi,
We remember well your beautiful wedding and very happy reception. Can it really have been 50 years ago? Still, we’ve shared so many wonderful adventures in so many places, often with Adri and Erich. Memories of Chateauguay, California, Cyprus and Mississauga blend with recollections of Devil’s Cove and Gunner’s Cove and of course Scheveningen, all to be fit in between your first visit to Kingston together, probably in 1969, and our last visit to Isaiah Tubbs in late summer 2019, before the world locked down. These are wonderful souvenirs, precious gifts that we are privileged to have shared with you both. Congratulations on 50 splendid years, and best wishes for many happy and healthy years to come. We look forward to being with you once again, wherever and whenever that may be. With love, Corrie and Jim.

Shared by Chaher and Astrid Soliman, here is a short clip showing some framed old family pictures.
Here is what Audri & Erich Bauer shared:
Dear Gonny and Chadi,
Well here you are 50 years of married bliss and still going strong. Our heartfelt
congratulations. God has blessed you with a wonderful marriage and 3 beautiful
daughters plus 2 grandsons. I will just share with you little bits that I remember.
I don’t quite know how this is supposed to be
The first time I met Chadi, It must have been summer because we were in our
back garden, and Gonny you came over and introduced us to Chadi and a
couple of his friends. I remember thinking how easy going and friendly Chadi was.
Later ( I don’t really remember exactly when, but I know it must have been
before you got married, we got to meet Chadi’s mother, Chadi and Chaher at
Ma and Pa’s house. I have pictures but I have to find out how to transfer them.
The day you got married was a remarkable day. It had looked like it was going
to rain, but it stayed dry for the wedding. I felt so proud to be asked to sing at
your wedding with the Sunshine Gospel Singers I also remember the reception
where a couple of young ladies (Chadia might have been one of them) did some
belly dancing Impressing quite a few people and Al Hughes entertained us with
his tinkling of the ivories. It was a wonderful reception celebrating your
wedding with family and friends.
When you moved to Chevrefils Street just around the block from us it was so
special to be able to just pop in for a cup of coffee or tea. Chadi you being so
patient teaching Ricky to play chess. I also remember Chadi’s picture taking. Lol
Everyone having to be patient.
Fast forward forward, lots of good memories: visiting you in California and you so
graciously taking me sightseeing . Our time in Cypress when you guys rented an
extra large vehicle so you could take us to such special places. Us girls singing
ABBA with pollepels as microphones. Gonny you being such a great hostess it
must have been a lot of work and we appreciated it.
Then there were our mini vacations at Isaiah Tubbs twice a year, where
wonderful times were spent with you and Corrie and Jim. I must forget a lot of
other stuff but this is what I remember mostly. Gonny and Chadi, Erich and I wish
you many more years together, in good health and may God continue to bless you
and your family.
Love always Erich and Adri.
